Cabos
If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant with great service and traditional Mexican dishes, then Cabos is the place for you.
Cabos is located directly off Auburn Folsom Boulevard in Granite Bay, just a short drive away from anywhere in the town.
Upon entering the restaurant, my party and I were greeted by who appeared to be the manager. We were then shown to our seats and given the choice of a booth or a table – we chose the booth.
The waiter promptly brought the chips and salsa as well as three glasses of water. This was a nice surprise, for in most restaurants I find myself waiting for several minutes for the water to be brought.
Our waiter was hospitable and attentive, always catering to our needs.
After quite some deliberation, we decided on our orders: tacos carne asada, tostada chica and a combo dish (which included a shredded beef burrito, chile relleno and chicken enchilada).
While waiting for our food, we munched on our fresh chips, both corn and flour, and salsa. As I gazed around, I was struck by the authenticity of the restaurant. The environment was comparable to a restaurant you might find south of the border.
Our food arrived quickly and it was steaming hot.
The tacos carne asada came with two soft tacos, each filled with meat, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and sour cream.
The combo plate came with a large shredded beef burrito, chile relleno and chicken enchilada all served with rice and beans.
The tostada was served with chicken, lettuce and guacamole all layered on a flat corn tortilla.
After the first few bites of my carne asada tacos, I knew that I was indulging in some great Mexican food. All of the dishes were delicious and all seemed like they could’ve been served in Mexico.
Throughout the meal, the waiter continuously stopped by to check in and see if we need anything. The service was superb.
All of the employees of the restaurant treated us with kindness and respect.
As I finished my last taco, I was almost disappointed that the meal had come to and end. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and the overall atmosphere was very authentic.
But did this great food and service come at a price? The answer is no. The food was reasonably priced; expect to pay around $10-12 for any given entrée.
For the quality of food and service the price seemed like a steal.
